I Agree I Have Blundered
Criminalcase No 15890013311 (based on a true story)

(programming by John Haltiwanger, images from trial by Ilze Vanaga)2011-2012
Upon returning home to Latvia for the summer from The Netherlands we (I and my boyfriend) got arrested on the border. An insignificant amount of hemp flowers was in our car. […] From that date (my birthday, June 12, 2011) our status was changed to suspects – a criminal group, acting with premeditation under alleged drug influence, we were accused with a possible penalty from 5 up to 12 years in prison with or without property confiscation for possession and contraband of dangerous drugs. The criminal trial took place exactly half a year later, on December 13, 2011
We regard the Court as an institution of fair and objective judgment and rightful justice. My project is autobiographical as I was involved with the Judicial system in Latvia and I was astounded to find that the main stumbling block is miscommunication – not only between the system and me as an individual, but also/mainly within the system itself.
